The idea of living in a foreign country is certainly exciting, but at the same time it is wise to inform yourself enough to leave with peace of mind.
Here is some essential information, but do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions or curiosity about your life in Tangier.

VISED
A valid passport is sufficient to enter Morocco. The tourist visa is valid for 3 months.

SAFETY
The “security” issue is sometimes a worry for those who have never been to an Arab country.
Despite the cities’ large population, Tangier, like other metropolises, remains a safe city. The people are usually kind and hospitable, accustomed to the presence of foreigners for centuries. Sure, some attempted theft may happen, but in what city doesn’t it happen?
As with any city in the world that you are unfamiliar with, it is advisable not to venture into the more suburban and isolated neighborhoods at night.
D’ogni modo, the Crisis Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends two important web addresses to travel safely and to receive real-time text messages alerting you of any problems in the country you are in or to be reached in case of problems in Italy (family members, etc..). The database is absolutely secure; once set up, your data will remain sealed and opened only when really needed. If not, after two days from the date of arrival in Italy, the data will self-delete.
www.dovesiamonelmondo.it
www.viaggiaresicuri.it

CLOTHING
Tangier has always been a land of Spaniards, Englishmen, Frenchmen, Italians, Americans and so on; therefore, it can hardly be considered a conservative city. There are no dress codes that need to be followed for either men or women. In any case, it is advisable for women to avoid overly flamboyant clothing, particularly during the month of Ramadan.

MONETA
The currency in effect in Morocco is the dirhams (DH).
